Current Status:

Rob practices in the areas of business valuation and litigation support, as well as providing general business advisory and consulting services, with significant experience working with First Nations businesses.

Experience:

After completing his studies at the University of British Columbia (BComm (Co-Op) 2000), Rob worked with several accounting firms in BC and Edmonton, before first joining Mowbrey Gil in 2005.

Upon becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant in 2009, Rob spent two years as the Controller / CFO with a privately-owned Yellowknife-based mechanical contractor, before returning to Mowbrey Gil in 2012, where Rob obtained his Chartered Business Valuator designation in 2016.

Rob is currently enrolled as a student with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, and will write the Membership Qualification Exam in 2015.

Selected Valuation and Litigation Experience:

  • The valuation of businesses and business interests for the purpose of shareholder disputes, matrimonial disputes, estate freezes, tax reorganizations, and other purposes
  • The determination of business losses and damages arising from business interruption, personal injury, breach of trust, breach of contract, and expropriation of property

Selected Business Advisory and Consulting Experience:

  • Participation in the due diligence process on sales and purchases of businesses and providing assistance in contract negotiations
  • Providing financial support to First Nations and privately-owned businesses on budgetary processes and development of financial reporting to Boards of Directors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders
  • Preparing business plans, feasibility reports, grant funding applications, and other financial projections
